Florimonte's to Take Over WISC Grille

Local favorite Florimonte’s Fine Foods and Deli will be taking the reins at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex Grille starting January 4.

The grill is currently run by WISC staff and offers concession-type foods. According to Founder and President Chris Haywood, WISC has been looking to partner with someone in the food business who was also a local. Mark Florimonte turned out to be just the right man for the job.

“[Florimonte’s] has such a great reputation,” Haywood says, “and they really know what they’re doing. It’ll be such a benefit to us… we’re really excited about it.”

Florimonte will lease the space from WISC, and will change the name to Florimonte’s West, he says.

He’ll offer Florimonte’s specialty pizza at the WISC location, along with select gourmet sandwiches from the Florimonte’s menu. “There will lots of snack items and healthy choices for the kids, all at a great price,” Florimonte says.

About 800 to 1,000 people come into WISC each day, according to Haywood, and Florimonte feels like the traffic will be enough to make it a good location.

Florimonte’s West will be open Monday through Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. starting Monday, January 4, and it will also open during large sports events.
