Hotel Association Plans New Restaurant Guide for Area

The Williamsburg Hotel Motel Association is planning to publish a new hard-cover book about area dining and restaurants.

 

The Restaurant and Menu Guide will be published by Vista Graphics, which also publishes the WHMA’s Official Visitor’s Guide to the Greater Williamsburg Area, and will be distributed in May 2011. The guide will contain menus and information on all the area’s top restaurants along with color photographs.

About 20,000 copies of the book will be published, and they will be available to guests in all the lodging establishments in the region, according to WHMA Operations Director Priscilla Caldwell.

“This new Menu Guide will present Williamsburg’s fine restaurants beautifully for visitors to the area to enjoy, seeing all their culinary options in full color,” she said.

Randy Thompson, publisher of Vista Graphics, said the planned guide has been very well received by local restaurateurs. "I think it will be a winner right out of the gate," he said.

Vista Graphics has published similar guides in the Outer Banks, NC, Virginia Beach, and Ocean City, Md., Thompson said, and these have been very successful.

The book, which will remain in rooms and isn’t meant to be taken home by guests, will also be another vehicle for restaurant owners to reach out to customers, according to Caldwell.
