Tuscany's Closes, New Restaurant Opening Soon

YC-TheRevoltOrange cones block the entrance to the building that used to house Tuscany’s Coffee House on George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown. A sign is posted on the door of the empty building, telling customers that a new restaurant is moving in quickly.

The Revolt, according to its Facebook page, is a newly established casual fine dining restaurant that will “focus on bringing a little history back to 21st Century Yorktown” by supplying customers with a Revolutionary War-era atmosphere. The restaurant will be managed by Tim and Lisa Insley.

Set to open on August 1, the restaurant will serve quality deli sandwiches, soups and salads for lunch and a menu designed specifically by Chef Damen Heretick for dinner. There will be daily specials, but the specialty will be fresh seafood and steaks, according to the Facebook page.

The new restaurant will have a license to serve alcohol, according to the state ABC website.

Attempts to reach the new owners were not successful.

Tuscany's, described on its website as "openly positive, openly Christian coffee house founded by Steve Spain of Spain Commercial," closed just before the July 4 holiday. Spain purchased the former bank building at the northwest corner of Route 17 and Denbigh Boulevard in July 2007, then set about an extensive renovation that transformed the space into a cozy coffeehouse.

The Revolt will be open every day except for Tuesday. With their current website - http://www.therevolt.co - still under construction, you can find out more information about the new restaurant by clicking here.
