The Virginia Department of Transportation is warning motorists to stay off roads if possible and, if not, to use extreme caution while driving. Most interstates and state-maintained roads are clear, but bridges and overpasses remain slick. For up-to-the-minute road reports, dial 511. To plan your trip, look at the VDOT Web site. The site also has tips for winter driving - very useful for Southerners unaccustomed to snow. The Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance Annual Dinner Dance scheduled for Saturday night has been canceled due to inclement weather. The College of William and Mary men's basketball game has been postponed from Saturday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 5 p.m. The women's team will play at 2 p.m. All tickets for Saturday's game will be honored for tomorrow. The game will be broadcast live on 92.3FM The Tide and 107.9 BACHfm. High Street's Movie Tavern and Regal 12 Cinemas at New Town in Williamsburg are both closed until Sunday. Quarterpath Recreation Center and Waller Mill Park will remain closed on Sunday, January 31st. St. Bede Catholic Church - No Saturday vigil service at 5:30 p.m. No Sunday services at 7:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at the Ironbound location. No Sunday service at 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Campus Ministry Chapel. Sunday afternoon's Town Hall Meeting scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the church has been cancelled. The Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists have canceled both worship services for Sunday, January 31st, as well as the afternoon Youth Sunday's Black History Program at Bruton Heights Ed Center featuring Dr. Vinson has been postponed to February 27. Greenwood Christian Academy has rescheduled its Open House for Saturday, February 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the preschool campus at King's Way Church, 5100 John Tyler Highway and Elementary/Middle School campus at Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center, 5251 Suite 37 John Tyler Highway. Walsingham Academy Open House: Postponed from this Sunday, Jan. 30 until next, Sunday, Feb. 7. The open house will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Williamsburg Regional Library locations: All locations will be closed all day Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31. This includes the James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Rd.; Mobile Library Services; and the Williamsburg Library, 515 Scotland St. The library expects to reopen for its regular Sunday hours of 1-5 p.m. Updates to the schedule will be posted on the library's Web site and at (757) 259-7770. York County Public Libraries: All are closed Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31. Virginia Living Museum: closed Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31 due to the snow. "Wildlife in Action," a program with the Girl Scouts, has been canceled for Saturday night. Mariners' Museum: closed today, Saturday, Jan. 30 due to snow. James City County: Emergency officials are monitoring winter weather conditions and urging residents to stay off the road this weekend since road conditions may be hazardous. Due to the predicted snowfall, the following County facilities and operations will be closed:

Williamsburg: The Parks & Recreation Department has announced that Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed Saturday, Jan. 30. Also closed, Waller Mill Park. The city has closed Capitol Landing Bridge as of 9 a.m. Saturday due to weather conditions. Legal Outreach Clinic: Originally scheduled for this Saturday, the clinic has been postponed due to the winter storm forecast. The Clinic has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Griffin-Yeates Learning Center. All Chesapeake Bank Branches will be closed Saturday, Jan. 30, due to inclement weather. Williamsburg Honda Hyundai Parts, Service and Sales will be closed Saturday, Jan. 30. The dealership will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, Feb. 1. The College of William and Mary is closed Saturday and Sunday due to inclement weather. The Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at CrossWalk Community Church which was originally scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled to next Saturday, Feb. 6 due to inclement weather. Hi Ho Silver in New Town and City Center at Oyster Point will be closed Saturday and - hopefully - reopen Sunday. Warwick United Church of Christ, Newport News has canceled its Sunday service.
