Weather Closings, Postponements - Wed. , Feb. 3 Edition: Updated 6:50 A.M.

Continued iciness on area roads – especially secondary routes – has resulted in the following closures for Wednesday, Feb. 3. Please check back often, as we will update this list as frequently as warranted. Williamsburg James City County Public Schools will be closed for students and teachers on Wednesday, Feb. 3 due to more than half the area’s roads remaining hazardous for division buses. All 12-month employees, administrators, custodial and maintenance staff are to report to work on a 2-hour delay basis.

York County School Division will be closed for students on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Teachers should report to work on a two-hour delay schedule.

Child Development Resources in Williamsburg (Norge and Lafayette High School operations) will open 2 hours late on Wednesday, Feb. 3.  Griffin-Yeates Center will follow the York County School Division 12-month employee schedule.

Greenwood Christian Academy will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 3 as per W-JCC school system's inclement weather schedule.

Newport News Public Schools will be closed for students Wednesday, Feb. 3. All activities are canceled. Only 12-month employees should report two hours late, except custodial and plant services staffs, who should report on time.

Gloucester Public Schools will be closed for students Wednesday, Feb. 3. All employees (except bus drivers and cafeteria workers) should report from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mathews Public Schools will be closed for students Wednesday, Feb. 3. Teachers should report at 9 a.m.

Looking ahead: Due to the strong chance of inclement weather this weekend, The Spencers: Theatre of Illusion performance scheduled for this Saturday, Feb.6, at the Ferguson Center has been moved to Friday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. All tickets sold will be honored at that date.  Please call the Ferguson Center Ticket Office at 757.594.8752 for information.
