Kids Returning to School Thursday

The snow days are over for the Triangle's public schoolchildren.

Students attending Williamsburg-James City County public schools will report to school two hours late Thursday, Feb. 4. Superintendent Gary Mathews said some lingering ice issues in some parts of the county determined a two-hour delayed start to the school day. W-JCC staff also will report on a two-hour delay.

In York County, students will have a regular day. Those on a block schedule will report to their 'A' day classes.

Both school divisions are expected to announce make-up days soon.

Other schedules for area public school divisions for Thursday are as follows:

Gloucester County - open, but students should report on a two-hour delay schedule.

Newport News - open, but students should report on a two-hour delay. All morning half-day programs, including PEEP, are canceled. Afternoon programs will be held as scheduled.
