Probation Officer Charged in Drug StingBy WYDaily Staff Monday, February 22, 2010 A Hampton probation officer was arrested in York County last week on charges that she purchased 20 OxyContin pills from an undercover agent.Thirty-year-old Ridgley B. Morman, of Newport News, was arrested following a sting conducted by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s office and Tri Rivers Drug Task Force officers. Morman was charged with one count of solicitation of a felony and one count of attempting to possess a schedule 1 controlled substance. OxyContin is a prescription narcotic pain reliever. A York County sheriff's spokesman said the undercover operation took place shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 in a parking lot in the 5000 block of Victory Boulevard in the Kiln Creek area of the county. Morman was released from the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on bond. She's scheduled to appear March 1 in York General District Court. |
