Busch Extends Christmas Town's 2010 Run

Too much Christmas isn't a bad thing.

Visitors to Busch Gardens' inaugural Christmas Town wondered what they could do between Christmas and New Year's, since the new attraction was slated to close the weekend after Christmas. This year they'll be able to stay put, since park management announced it would extend Christmas Town's run through New Year's Eve.

“We kept hearing from guests that they were looking for something to do between Christmas and New Year’s. We listened and are extending the schedule to accommodate that request,” said Busch Gardens General Manager John Reilly.

The addition of five days - barring weather closures like the one in December - will have the park open for a winter experience Fridays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m. beginning Nov. 26 (the day after Thanksgiving). The park will be open daily Dec. 17 through 31, with the exception of Christmas Day. The park will close at 9 p.m. on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Christmas Eve.

Additional Christmas Town details planned for the 2010 holiday season will be announced later this year.

John, thanks to you and all the staff at Busch for continuing this event. Everyone I spoke with thoroughly enjoyed Christmas Town. My family and I visited numerous times in December. I am sure that Christmas Town will continue to evolve into a wonderful event similar to Howl-O-Scream. Maybe Colonial Williamsburg can create a "new" program to really enhance the overall experience during that time of year. Grand Illumination is an outstanding event and now with Christmas Town expanding we are creating a nice reason to visit our town during the Holiday season. GO BURG!!!!

Excellent news. The team at Busch Gardens should be commended for this initiative. It took real courage to make this idea happen during a time of unknown...Inbev and Blackstone purchase.
I sent all of my guests to Christmas Town during the holiday and every single one of the praised the experience and said they would return again next holiday season.
Great job John & kudos to your team of professionals. We are very thankful for and appreciative of your leadership in our community. You have our sincere thanks.

This year was hampered by a lot of rain but still managed to be successful. Add an extra week and some dryer weather, and the area will see quite a bump!

This is great news. My family and I loved Christmas Town, the grounds were absolutely beautiful, the shows great and the people who attended and worked in the shops were full of Christmas spirit. If the handlers are smart they will do something special for New Year's Eve. How about an old fashioned New Years Eve party complete with dancing, bands, hats and noise makers? Christmas town what a great success! Thanks.

FANTASTIC! The event was great, and it helped the local area during the usually slow month of December. I enjoyed it, my wife and daughter did also. John Reilly and his staff have produced another top notch event. We are looking forward to this summer's fireworks too.
