Neighbor's Video Leads to Burglary Arrests

York County sheriff's investigators are crediting a neighbor with providing the key to solving a residential burglary in the Grafton Woods subdivision.

A resident in the 100 block of Barnswallow Ridge observed a pair of men coming and going behind a nearby home, and decided to videotape it. Investigators watched the tape and were able to identify the suspects, one of whom is a neighbor, and charge them with stealing an X-Box, and video games.

Arrested and charged with one count each of burglary and grand larceny were 18-year-old Willie Rose and 21-year-old Aaron Martin. Rose's last known address is in the 100 block of Barnswallow Ridge. Martin's last known address is the 200 block of Dare Road. Both men are from York County.

Some of the stolen property, including the X-Box, was recovered.

York Sgt. Dennis Ivey, Jr. said he hoped the arrests let area criminals know that neighbors are watching. "I encourage all residents to report all suspicious activity in their neighborhood," he said.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
