Local I-64 Traffic Cameras Out of CommissionBy WYDaily Staff Thursday, April 01, 2010
Heavy rains led to the flooding, which wrecked the underground cables. Broken cameras include those between Fort Eustis Boulevard (exit 250) and the Busch Gardens exit at mile marker 244. There are other intermittent camera outages throughout the region where flooding occurred, affecting the equipment. The cameras will be out of service and unavailable for at least 60 days, while repairs are made. A VDOT spokeswoman said reports from the cameras will not be available on the VDOT Web site, on the call-in 511 line or through Traffic Land, VDOT's internet provider.
