Free Movie, Music Tonight on Prince George St.

Last month it was postponed due to rain, but tonight looks pleasant so a new event, "Late Night on Prince George Street," is on.

The College of William and Mary Student Chamber of Commerce is trying to improve town-gown relations, and will host the event. It begins tonight on Prince George Street at 7 with a performance by The Gentlemen of the College, one of the College's premier a cappella groups.

The music will be followed by a screening of "The Blind Side," featuring the Oscar-winning performance of actress Sandra Bullock, at 7:30 p.m. Those who attend should bring their own chairs or blankets to view the movie.

Businesses on Prince George Street will be staying open for the event, and although the businesses are providing discounts geared towards students, the event is open to all Williamsburg residents.

Get more information on the event's Facebook page.

As one who has shown movies like these in the past I hope the royalties are being paid to the relevant agencies. Its a great thing but as we found out by a friendly call from the MPAA, there is a fee to show movies to the public.

Great benefit for the entire community and all visitors. Hopefully it will take one's mind off the economy.
