New Role for Chamber VP

chamberA longtime leader in the Historic Triangle's business community will shift gears soon.

Bob Hershberger, executive vice president of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance, will retire from that post June 30, then take over as program coordinator of Leadership Historic Triangle.

LHT is sponsored by the Chamber, with a mission to "enhance the quality of life in the Historic Triangle by developing, encouraging and supporting community leaders." The group has been searching for a new leader since last fall.

"For almost a quarter of a century, Bob has brought an unparalleled level of commitment to our community, this organization and its members," wrote Chamber President Dick Schreiber. "That, combined with his institutional memory, will make replacing him a daunting task."

Schreiber said the Chamber would begin the search for Hershberger's replacement later this year.

What a perfect role for Bob as he winds down towards retirement! He has been an outstanding ambassador and leader for the Chamber and Williamsburg community over the past quarter century. He will most assuredly bring his Historic Triangle experiences and resources to the LHT program. It has always been a privilege for me to work with Bob, both as a Chamber member and on community projects, non-profit boards and committees.
