Pons, Foster Sworn In Today at Historic CourthouseBy WYDaily Staff Thursday, July 01, 2010 The Williamsburg City Council will swear in its two newest members today, then convene for a brief organizational meeting to elect its mayor and vice mayor.Williamsburg James City Circuit Court Judge Samuel T. Powell will swear in new council members Doug Pons and Scott Foster, who were elected in May. The ceremony starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Courthouse of 1770 in the Historic Area, near the intersection of Francis and South England Streets. In addtion to elect the mayor and vice mayor, the council will confirm the appointments of the city manager, city attorney and clerk of council, and also vote on the adoption of the council's policy and procedures manual. The swearing-in and meeting are open to the public. The nearest parking is in the Merchants Square lot at the corner of Nassau and Francis Streets. |
