Arrested: Bank robbery suspect Corey Leon White
A suspected bank robber was taken into custody late Friday afternoon, two days after allegedly holding up a York County bank.

Corey Leon White, of Newport News, was arrested without incident around 4 p.m. Friday in Sussex County, according to York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dennis Ivey, Jr.

White faces charges of armed roberry, grand larceny and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.

Ivey said the suspect entered the Bank of America branch on Richmond Road around 9:54 a.m. Wednesday and displayed a note to the teller that indicated he was armed and demanded cash.

The teller complied with the note, and the subject fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen heading west out of the bank toward the rear of neighboring businesses.
