Man Held on Rape Charge for City Incident

A 24-year-old Virginia Beach man has been arrested on rape and forcible sodomy charges following an incident Sunday in Williamsburg.

Williamsburg police spokesman Lt. Andy Barker said Cameron R. Brown was arrested Monday in Virginia Beach.

Brown is a suspect in the assault on a 19-year-old woman who had met him through mutual friends. The pair agreed to meet Saturday night in the 1300 block of Mount Vernon Avenue, and Barker said the assault occurred at a second meeting Sunday night at the same address.

Brown is being held without bond at the Virginia Beach Jail.
