CW's Fifes & Drums Wed. Guests on CBSBy WYDaily Staff Tuesday, August 03, 2010 Turn on those televisions Wednesday morning to catch members of Colonial Williamsburg's Fifes & Drums, who are scheduled to perform on the CBS Early Show. The program airs locally beginning at a.m. on WTKR-TV, Channel 3. This appearance will showcase the Fifes & Drums during an Early Show weather segment. It's another opportunity for members to perform live in New York (they've been part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade) and for a network television audience. It's the second time in about a week that Colonial Williamsburg has been featured on national TV. Last Thursday the Williamsburg area was featured as a Budget Travel Readers Choice winner for family destinations. Budget Travel Editor in Chief Nina Wildorf appeared on NBC's Today Show with host Al Roker to talk about the reasons the area was tops with families. The Fifes & Drums have been a part of the Colonial Williamsburg experience for more than 50 years and have performed all over the U.S. and internationally. Last year, members gave 700 performances. Colonial Williamsburg guests can see the Fifes & Drums daily in the Historic Area as part of the Foundation’s interactive programming. |
