Labor Day ClosingsSaturday, September 04, 2010 Labor Day has finally arrived, which means kids will be heading back to school soon, the days are getting shorter and the pools are having their last hurrah. To help honor the social and economic achievements of American workers, the following government offices and agencies will be closed on Monday:
James City County: All county offices, James City/Williamsburg Community Center, James River Community Center, Williamsburg Regional Library (Sunday and Monday), James City County Library (Sunday and Monday), Virginia Cooperative Extension, Social Services, the county garbage transfer station, and courts. Convenience centers and recycling will be on their normal schedules. Williamsburg: All city offices. Refuse collection will not be affected. City council’s work session will be held Tuesday, September 7, at 4 p.m. York County: All county offices, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Social Services, York County Public Library, Waste Management Office, VPPSA composting facility, and garbage transfer station. There will be no curbside garbage pickup Labor Day. Trash pickups will be shifted ahead one day, so Monday pickups will be moved to Tuesday, Tuesday pickup moved to Wednesday, and so on. Recycling won’t be affected. |
