York Finance Director Resigns

YC_logo_resizedYork County’s director of finance resigned Friday for unknown reasons.

Marycarol White, the director of financial and management services, resigned her position, according to county spokeswoman Christie Phillips, who would not elaborate. The county won’t comment on personnel matters, Phillips said.

A woman in White’s office confirmed that Friday was White’s last day. She started her job with the county in January 2002, and prior to that she was a senior manager for Goodman and Company.

White told WYDaily she had no comment on the reasons behind her abrupt departure.

Aside from her role as head of the county’s finance department, in which she handled tasks from general accounting, payroll, and billing to helping develop the county budget, White also served on the Marquis Community Development Authority. That organization was responsible for issuing public bonds to finance infrastructure improvements related to the struggling Marquis Shopping Center.
