Missing York Teens Found Safe

A pair of runaway York County teens have been found.

Tiffany Marie Minor and Tara Melissa Blair, both 16, were located Wednesday night at a Route 17 bowling alley. Their families had reported them missing Friday, when the Bruton High students were last seen around 3:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Airport Road near Waller Mill Park. They'd been spotted in the area since Saturday, but Wednesday night's phoned-in tip led investigators to the girls.

"Because of the sharp eyes of a concerned citizen the girls were apprehended and are now safe," said York Lt. Penny Diggs.

What the girls may not realize is that in the effort to locate them, the predators are also privy to the news that these teens are "hiding" from their parents, and therefore ripe for the picking.

Enough of us understand, sorta, about and how 'teens. especially girls, rebel for whatever reasons and "run away." The problem? The ones who actually are hurt, hurting are the parents, like in this case. What the girls, in this case, do not realize are the PERILS lurking "out there" for runaways. They simply are not mature and experienced enough to realize the dangers they place themselves in, like this incident, and the misery to the parents!
