City Hall Closing Early Wednesday

The City of Williamsburg's Municipal Building at 401 Lafayette St. will close at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to allow electrical work to be done.

Dominion Power will be working at the downtown building to integrate electrical service from the existing building to include the new addition. Power is expected to be restored in time for the Municipal Building to reopen Thursday, Oct. 7, at 8 a.m., as usual. The police and fire stations, along with the Stryker Building, are unaffected by this work.

Progress continues on the addition, with offices expected to make the move into the new section sometime in mid-December. Following that will be work on the retrofit of the existing building.
