York Investigating Nighttime Holdup Outside Bank

The York-Poquoson Sheriffs Office is investigating the armed robbery of a man who was trying to make an after-hours cash deposit at a local bank.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday a man trying to make a nighttime deposit at the Bank of American on Richmond Road in upper York was approached by a suspect who displayed a nickel-plated revolver and demanded the deposit bag.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 28 years of age and about 5’10-5’11” tall. He was wearing a black baggy jacket with a "hoodie" on his head, and baggy pants. The suspect may have worn a hat beneath the hoodie, and wore something covering his face.

The suspect ran straight into the bushes at the railroad tracks. He may have been seen later in an unknown white vehicle.

Anyone with information on this holdup is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888 LOCK-U-UP.
