JCC Citizens Can Now Track Comp Plan ProgressBy WY Daily Staff Monday, November 22, 2010 James City County has launched a new interactive website feature that will allow residents to track the progress of various goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan. The 2009 Comprehensive Plan has hundreds of Goals, Strategies and Actions (GSA) associated with it, which are intended to help make the plan’s broader ideas a reality. The GSAs were adopted by the board of supervisors during the Comp Plan update. The county has a website on the Plan, which now includes an interactive schedule that will allow the public to see the timelines and priority ranking of each individual GSA. Users can also sort the information in multiple ways and search for keywords. View the interactive schedule here. The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. Reviewed every five years, it is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation.
