New Assistant Principal At Norge Elementary

A new assistant principal has been appointed at Norge Elementary School.

Philip J. Griffin, most recently an administrative assistant at Walnut Hill Elementary School in Petersburg, Va., will join the Norge leadership team.

Griffin has worked in education as a teacher and administrator for 14 years. At Walnut Hill, where he has worked since 2008, he assisted the principal and assistant principal by chairing 95 percent of child study meetings, managing most disciplinary referrals and handling 50 percent of special education meetings.

Prior to joining Walnut Hill, Griffin served as an instructor and administrator at elementary schools in Richmond, Glen Allen, Mechanicsville, Ashburn and Charlton, Mass.

He earned his bachelor of science degree at Worcester State College in Worcester, Mass. in 1996. He earned a master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education in 2006.
