An Important Note to WYDaily Readers

At WYDaily we strive to bring you a fresh, authentic perspective on local news. Adhering to the highest journalistic standards, which includes a reliance on original writing, is of paramount importance. So is being truthful, which is why we are compelled to inform our readers it's come to our attention one of our bloggers, Victoria Racimo, has fallen short of our standards. As a result, we have removed her blog, Racimo con Brio, from our lineup and ended our association with her.

We regret this incident and look forward to maintaining our high standards, the ones our readers rightfully expect.

thank you for your integreity and follow through. do you think it would be helpful for us readers to know the offense, just in case we made decisions based on bad info? trying not to be nosy or gossipy - just would like the facts.

I am disappointed that you felt the need to imply that Ms. Racimo is dishonest and/or incompetent. I would respect you more had you taken the high road and just announced her leaving and wished her well.
In her announcement that she was no longer writing the blog she stated "I hope you continue to enjoy the newspaper [WYDAILY.com] as it is the hometown news source of choice".
Victoria Racimo has a long and impressive resume of professional experience to qualify her opinions and observations. I seriously doubt that you will find anyone else locally with her knowledge and experience. She has also made large contributions to the arts locally, through her company, Palamino Entertainment Group.
Your comments about her were unnecessary, disrespectful, and defamitory. I hope that in the future you will be more midfull of how you speak of your former colleagues.

Generalizations ? Where is WYDaily's real transparency surrounding this approach here to publicly impuning Victoria's veracity? I will continue to appreciate her writings, now in the past!!

Whoo Hoo! I am so glad you purged that black hole in cyberspace. You have a quality news site and I look forward to receiving it on my lap(top)daily. I am a Newport News resident and frequent Williamsburg and Yorktown regularly for the arts, events and vittles that seem to be in abundant. Your business articles are also informative. Keep up the excellent job. The only thing that would make WY Daily even better is linking the teaser headline with the articles we want to read rather than the splash page. Thanks for cyber printing and saving the trees and keeping us informed on the pulse of the locality! :-)

We are all better off. The blog was vacuous and unintelligent.

Her discussions were always about the little people anyway.

To me, transparent and open would state the facts of the offense in clear terms. At this point we have a suggestion of untruthfulness and non-originality . I think either more or less should have been said. Since it's too late to say less, let's hear more.

How sad. I enjoyed reading her blog, but thank you for being vigilant and sticking to your standards. it does mean a lot to all of us who rely on sites like yours to keep their integrity and represent our area well. I do hope you find an arts writer to add on because we desperately need it here :)
