Search Begins for Cornelius' UWGW ReplacementBy WYDaily Staff Monday, December 13, 2010 The United Way of Greater Williamsburg will lose its longtime executive director to retirement in March, and has announced the launch of a search to replace her.Civic-minded community leaders, led by United Way Board member and Human Resources Committee Chair Ed Lucas, retired V.P. Human Resources Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, will look for Sharron Cornelius' replacement. “Sharron has done an outstanding job over the 14 years of her tenure with our organization. It will be challenging to find a replacement that can take us to the next level of service to the community," said UWGW Board President Bob Graves. "That is why we are fortunate to have a search committee composed of individuals who are familiar with the United Way and possess a solid understanding of both the needs and character of the community. Experience, enthusiasm and fit will be key factors in selecting our next executive director.” Search committee members include: Graves, a past Campaign Chair, and Corporate V.P. & Administrator for Sentara Regional Medical Center; Marshall Warner, UWGW Campaign Chair/2011 Board President, Executive Vice President of Chesapeake Bank; Aaron Butler, UWGW Board member and Assistant Principal, Bruton High School and a church deacon; Marjorie Daniel, former UWGW HR Chair, Investment Committee Chair and Human Resources Manager, Ball Corporation; Mark Duncan, board member and Director of Community, College & Government Relations for Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; Karen Jamison, former UWGW President, Campaign Chair, Leadership Chair for Campaign Cabinet, long-time volunteer and active community volunteer; Pam McGregor, UWGW Campaign Cabinet, active in inter-agency activity and Director, The Arc of Greater Williamsburg; Christina Shelton, UWGW Board Secretary and Audit Committee and City of Williamsburg Attorney; and Bernard Ngo, past United Way Campaign Chair, Board President and President, Williamsburg/Gloucester SunTrust Bank, Hampton Roads.
