Grammy Winner to Perform in WilliamsburgBy WY Daily Staff Friday, December 17, 2010

South-Dakota born Colvin made her performing debut at the age of 15 and has since released eight albums, earned three Grammy Awards and has toured with such greats as Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett. She is best known for “Sunny Came Home,” a ballad about a betrayed and belittled woman, which won Grammys for song of the year and record of the year in 1998. Colvin’s visit is made possible through the partnership of Colonial Williamsburg and The Virginia Arts Festival, which aims to bring world-class performing arts to citizens, students and visitors to Hampton Roads. The two performances will be held at 6 and 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 in the Virginia Room at the Williamsburg Lodge. Seating in the Virginia Room is cabaret-style. Tickets are $35 and $45, available through Ticketmaster.com or 1-800-982-2787. Military and seniors receive a 10 percent discount, and AAA members can receive a 15 percent discount when purchasing tickets by telephone.
