Lists Yule Love: Great Stocking Stuffers

ListsYuleLove
People who love stocking stuffers really love them, and people who don’t see the point have probably never received a really great stocking. Stockings are a great way to treat people to a carefully curated selection of life essentials and completely luxurious indulgences. Stumped on how to fill those decorative socks? Read on for tips, and share your own favorite stuffers!

1. Office essentials: Try not to grab stuff that can easily be found in the standard office supply closet. Instead, get the more decorative post-it notes, pens, push pins and paperclips; anything with a little extra style than the norm. Or, step it up and get some of the amazing office gadgets out there, like stapleless staplers.

2. Miniature make-up: The women in your life can never get enough lotion, hand sanitizer and pretty little French soaps. This is also a great chance to buy something your friends and family would never buy themselves, like a fancy brand of nail polish, organic lip balm or a funky color of eye shadow.

3. Chef tools: Tiny kitchen gadgets, like silicon pinching tools or garlic cutters, can make life so much easier. Stainless steel bars of “soap” are amazing at getting rid of the scents of garlic and onions – much appreciated by every cook. A great paring knife is always great, too!

4. Gourmet goodies: Miniature bottles of champagne, tiny wheels of cheese, infused olive oils and fancy chocolates don’t take up any more space in the house, but are happily consumed by the recipients.

5. Winter Necessities: Help family members ring in the chilly New Year with a fresh supply of Carmex, hand warmers, ice scrapers and gloves.

6. Stamps: No one ever has them, and it’ll be motivation to actually send those thank you notes!

7. CDs of Family Photos: Remember when you promised to share the pictures from that wedding with Grandma? Or what about the family reunion back in ’99? Everyone would be delighted to finally get copies of those snapshots, all stored on one handy dandy disc!

8. Techie Tools: With more gadgets in our lives than ever, we can all use extra earbuds, jump drives, smart phone covers, compressed air to clean keyboards and cell phone chargers.

9. Mini liquors: Alright, this won’t exactly fly with the little cousins in the family, but can be great fun for the adults. New liquors are released every year and no one ever wants to spend more than $30 to try them; here’s their chance to get a sip.

10. Shop Local: Pick up Save 30 gift certificates for local businesses; it’s a great deal and spreads the holiday love to your neighborhood business owners. Here's how it works: You go to our Save 30 store. You choose the gift certificate you want - say, it's a $50 gift certificate - and then pay 30 percent less. So a $50 certificate costs $35, and you spend $50 at the business. Easy! Plus, no waiting at the email in box for a mysterious deal of the day, which is likely something you don't want or for a business too far away. Check out our shop here.

okay--how about donations to local charities in the name of recipient--on the theory that most people have so much "stuff" that the giver has to strain to think of gifts.

Scratch-off lottery tickets are always fun. Plus, if they win big, you'll be the coolest sister/daughter /aunt/friend EVER!
I'm getting votive candles and little holders for everyone this year. I was able to pick out scents for each individual.
