Weather-Related Closings, Delays for Tuesday

The sun will be out again today, with temperatures predicted above freezing to hasten the big melt that's ahead. Still, the snow has had an effect on what's open. If you know of closings and want them posted, email us at closings@wydaily.com. We will be updating our list regularly.

Curbside Recycling Update – Customers in James City County, York County and Poquoson with Tuesday collection will have service today if their neighborhoods and homes are accessible. If VPPSA cannot reach a neighborhood or home, customers are encouraged to hold their materials until the next collection day. There will not be a make-up collection for Monday. James City County offices, community centers and convenience centers are operating under normal business hours Tuesday, December 28. Residents are advised to stay tuned to local media for the latest updates. County closings and weather-related information will be posted on the County website; Cox Cable channel 48; Facebook; and the County’s emergency hotline, (757) 875-2424. City of Williamsburg - City trash collection scheduled for Monday has been postponed until Tuesday. Tuesday's trash pickup will occur Wednesday. Other updates will be available on the city's website by clicking here.

Williamsburg-James City County School Division - 12-month employees should report to work two hours late on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Williamsburg Area Transit Authority is delaying service on its regular WAT Buses and Surry Connection by two hours, from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28. In addition, WAT buses will run only on an hourly schedule, and there will be no Williamsburg Trolley service today.

Williamsburg Regional Library - All WRL Mobile Library Services neighborhood stops have been canceled today, Tuesday, Dec. 28, due to secondary road conditions.
