Late-Night Armed Holdup at York Motel

YC-CL-TravelLodge
York investigators are looking for these two suspects who robbed the Bypass Road TraveLodge Friday morning.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff's office is investigating an early morning armed robbery at an upper York County motel.

Two men entered the TraveLodge in the 100 block of Bypass Road around 2:15 a.m. Friday; one was armed with a handgun. Both men were black, and wore dark clothing, latex gloves and masks.

The armed suspect approached the desk clerk and took the clerk's wallet and cash. The second suspect went behind the front counter and forced open the cash drawer, then removed the money. The second suspect also stole a safe from beneath the counter.

Both suspects left through the front door. A small, dark-colored vehicle was seen leaving the lot as it turned left onto Bypass Road toward Richmond Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
