City Police Charge Juvenile in Armed RobberyBy WYDaily Staff Saturday, January 22, 2011 Williamsburg police worked quickly Friday night to apprehend a suspect after an attempted armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store in the 1200 block of Jamestown Road.According to a police report, a white male entered the store around 8 p.m. and confronted the clerks with a knife, demanding money and cigarettes. Other customers entered the store after the brief confrontation and the would-be robber fled the store on foot. There were no injuries. Police developed leads and quickly identified the suspect, a 17-year-old local male, who was taken into custody within three hours of the attempted robbery. Williamsburg Police Lt. Sam Wulfeck said the suspect's name would not be released because he is a juvenile. |
