WJCC Parents Invited toTake Online Survey

Parents of students attending Williamsburg-James City County schools have their chance to participate in the division’s climate survey.

Until Feb. 26, parents can answer survey questions about student discipline, teaching quality, parent involvement, communications and family engagement. To take the climate survey, click here or pick up a paper copy at any WJCC school office. The online survey requires the password "WJCCparents."

All responses are anonymous and confidential. The responses will be sent directly to Megan Tschannen-Moran, a professor of educational leadership at the College of William and Mary. Tschannen-Moran, co-founder of the Center for School Transformation, was contracted by the school division last fall to complete a climate survey of WJCC schools. When the survey is completed, she will also help the division implement changes based on the results of the survey.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Survey takers can skip any questions, but must complete the survey in a single session, because it is not possible to close the window and resume later.

I took the survey yesterday. My child attends the Academy for Life and Learning for which there is no category in the "which school does your child attend". Shame on them.

If you give out the password, doesn't that mean anyone can take the survey? It seems to me WJCC parents should be the only ones with access to the survey.
