Special CW Passes Extended to Peninsula ResidentsBy Amber Lester Kennedy Friday, February 18, 2011 Peninsula residents have an opportunity to purchase two annual passes to Colonial Williamsburg for the price of one until March 17. The offer is separate from the Good Neighbor Pass program, which restricts discounted passes to Historic Triangle zip codes. The temporary offer would extend the discount to all residents of James City County, York County, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg and Yorktown. To purchase an annual pass and receive a second annual pass for free, Peninsula residents must present a valid ID with an address to confirm their residency. In the event an ID does not have an accurate address, residents can present a utility bill as proof of residency. Tickets can be purchased at the Colonial Williamsburg ticket outlets or online here. The special offer allows Peninsula residents to buy a regular adult annual pass at $58.95 or a child’s pass at $29.50 and receive a second pass of equal value for free. Annual passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase and give the holder access to the Historic Area and Art Museums. The offer expires March 17, and cannot be combined with any other promotion or discount. Historic Triangle residents and school district employees can still take advantage of the Good Neighbor program after the offer expires, however. Good Neighbor passes can be purchased and renewed at Colonial Williamsburg’s Visitor Center or at the Lumber House Ticket Office on Duke of Gloucester Street. Each member of the family, from ages 6 and up, have to be present to receive an annual pass at a cost of $10 for adults and free for children under 17. To purchase a Good Neighbor pass, residents must present a valid driver’s license and a current utility bill for the zip codes 23089, 23090, 23127, 23168, 23185, 23186, 23187 and 23188. Employees of The College of William and Mary, WJCC schools and schools in the Bruton district of York County are eligible to receive a free Good Neighbor annual pass; school employees must present a current employee ID along with a valid driver’s license.
