WJCC Parents Can Track Bus Departures on Twitter

Every parent can relate: The bus was supposed to be home 20 minutes ago, your son has karate in 10 minutes and no one is answering the phone at the school. But now, Williamsburg-James City County Schools are utilizing Twitter to keep parents posted.

Parents can become “followers” of Twitter accounts for the buses on all three tiers of the WJCC bus schedule. The Twitter accounts will feature updated information about bus delays.

To start a Twitter account, click here. To follow updates for Tier 1 buses, click “follow” on this page. To follow Tier 2 buses, click here. To follow Tier 3 buses, click here.

The full bus schedules, with departure times and arrivals, are here.

This is a great idea but unfortunatly many parents who work during the day will not have access to Twitter at their workplace as this is considered a "social" site.
