Lightfoot Rail Crossing Remains Closed Today

Work was supposed to be done Tuesday, but CSX railroad crews will keep the closure in place at the railroad crossing on Lightfoot Road (Route 646) between Old Mooretown Road (Route 603) and Richmond Road (Route 60) through Wednesday.

CSX crews are finishing the replacement of rail and ties, in addition to paving the crossing. The road is expected to reopen at 5 p.m. today, March 16.

In the meantime, a detour is in place for motorists. From Lightfoot Road, the traveling public should utilize Old Mooretown Road to Airport Road (Route 645) to Richmond Road.
