James City County police are looking for a man who robbed a McLaws Circle bank Monday afternoon.

The man entered the BB&T Bank at 100 McLaws Circle at 3:38 p.m., James City police spokesman Maj. Steve Rubino said in a release. The suspect handed a teller a note demanding money but, Rubino said, did not display or imply a weapon.

The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was headed east towards Pocahontas Trail.

The suspect is described as a black male who wore a dark green jacket, blue and white plaid shirt, black pants and a black "do rag" on his head.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Are there really no operational cameras in the bank? That description sounds like it was made by a kindergartener. No silent alarm either?!

BB&T banks usually post a sign that states "no guns allowed". I'm sure that's why no gun was displayed. It's also the reason the BB&T banks are chosen for robberies. The bad guys don't have to worry about Granny standing behind them in line with a .45 in her purse. As we all know, criminals ALWAYS abide by the posted signs....and the letter of the law. If a sign was posted that stated "no robbers allowed", this crime would never have occurred.
