JCC Police I.D. Two Suspects in Home Invasion, Robbery

JCC-BrandonBriggs
Wanted: Brandon Lee Briggs, 18, of James City County
James City County police have arrested and charged one man in connection with a March 16 home invasion and robbery, but are looking for the public’s help in locating two other suspects.

Police spokesman Maj. Steve Rubino said the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. at a residence on Elbow Beach Lane in the Country Village Trailer Park. Two men knocked on the door and inquired about a party at the residence – there was none – and then forced their way into the home.

One of the men was armed with a handgun, and both intruders forced the three people inside the home to lie on the floor while they stole cash, credit cards, a PlayStation console and some jewelry. The residents were unharmed during the incident.

When the intruders left, one of the victims saw them get into a red SUV. That victim followed the SUV while contacting police, who stopped the suspects’ vehicle on Pocahontas Trail, just outside the entrance to the trailer park.

Rubino said three men - two black and one white, the driver - fled from the truck on foot. James City County police searched the area with the assistance of a Virginia State Police canine unit, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police, however, were able to recover all of the stolen property from the vehicle the trio had fled, along with evidence that led investigators to identifying two suspects so far.

On March 18, 19-year-old Bryant Maxwell Troy, of James City County turned himself in to police. He was charged with 10 felonies, Rubino said: three counts of abduction, three counts of robbery, three counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count burglary.

Police are seeking a second suspect, 18-year-old Brandon Lee Briggs, also of James City County. He is believed to have been the driver of the red SUV and is wanted on 10 felony charges, including abduction, breaking and entering, robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is described as a white male, between 5’2” and 5’4” and weighing about 125 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police warn that Briggs may be carrying a handgun.

Anyone who knows where Briggs may be is asked to call James City County police Investigator Lesa Barnett at 757-253-1800 or 757-259-5147. Those with information may also call the JCC police dispatch number, 757-566-0112.

Rubino said the investigation continues, and police expect to identify the third suspect and charge him.

I'm with Bill. I don't care if their mommas didn't love them enough, it does NOT excuse this level of antisocial behavior.

...Alright, alright, I do care if their mommas didn't love them enough. I would be sorry for them for that. But still, once you've held a family at gunpoint, my empathy for you is zilch.
