New Kent Suspect Last Seen in Williamsburg

New Kent Sheriff's investigators are looking for a man wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery and beating early Saturday morning in the Lanexa area of New Kent County.

Sheriff's officials say 26-year-old Alton Derrell White, also known as "Squirt," was last seen in the Richmond Road area of Wiliamsburg. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

White is described as black, 6'1" and 192 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

According to a press release, White is wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, attempted armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to New Kent Chief Deputy Joseph McLaughlin, Jr., it is also posible that White may be wanted on a federal probation violation.

McLaughlin said no additional information about the incident was going to be released, out of concern for the victim's safety and that of his family.
