"Too Big to Fail" Author to Speak at Williamsburg Inn

Author Andrew Ross Sorkin will speak in Williamsburg.
The author of “Too Big to Fail: How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System – and Themselves” will speak at the Williamsburg Inn on April 21.

New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin will speak at a luncheon at the inn, starting with book signings at 11:15 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. At 12:45 p.m., Sorkin will talk about the project and then answer questions from the audience. Sorkin’s book will be available for purchase at the event.

“Too Big to Fail” spent six months on The New York Times Best Seller list for business books following its release on Oct. 20, 2009. It chronicles the financial crisis from the perspectives of Wall Street CEOs and their government regulators. The book is being adapted to film by HBO, starring Paul Giamatti as Ben Bernanke, William Hurt as Hank Paulson and Billy Crudup as Timothy Geithner.

Sorkin is a columnist and the chief mergers and acquisitions reporter for The New York Times and the assistant editor of business and finance news. He is the editor of DealBook, a financial news site he started through The Times in 2001. He won the Gerald Loeb Award for business journalism in 2005 for breaking news and in 2010 for best business book of the year. He is also a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Sorkin has also appeared on The Today Show, PBS, MSNBC, Comedy Central and HBO, and is a frequent guest host of CNBC’s Squawk Box.
