No one was injured during the robbery. Williamsburg Police Major Greg Riley said investigators are looking to connect this robbery with the April 12 armed robbery of the Chesapeake Bank at 1229 Lafayette St. In that incident, three men - all wearing hooded jackets, masks and gloves - held up the bank around 3:30 p.m. They fled on foot, possibly getting into a maroon-colored vehicle. Police were able to obtain surveillance photos of the suspects in the Citizens and Farmers Bank robbery. Anyone with information about the bank robbery should call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or the Williamsburg police at 220-2331. |

All the banks could put in costly systems like the person suggested (they are all around in Europe) but are also in very large cities, but when the robbers start shooting and taking hostages, what have you gained?
Do your banking on-line.
Even more obviously a major point of safety-- our local employees out front in our banks and our customers in the lobby at the time! Their SAFETY is utmost, important, Williamsburg with our concerns. And don't even try any foolish rationalization s about "being unfair to anyone wearing a hoddie down...."
Oh, for the recorded record in England? Bank robberies have heavily subsided.
