The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who attempted to break into a residence in the Coventry neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The pair's plans were apparently thwarted when one of the would-be intruders saw the homeowner peering from an upstairs window.

The homeowner told police that two black men backed a late model, light-colored Chevrolet four-door into the driveway of the home in the 100 block of Amelia Court. One of the suspects stood by the open trunk while the other knocked on the door.

Upon hearing the knock, the homeowner looked out the window but did not recognize the person at the door and didn't answer. After a couple more knocks, the suspect kicked in the front door but was startled when he saw the homeowner looking out a second story window.

The suspects drove away quickly, police said, but not before the homeowner was able to take some photos.

Anyone with information about the suspects or vehicle should call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
