Rain Brings End to Burn Ban in York

York County Fire and Life Safety officials have lifted the county-wide burn ban enacted earlier this spring.

Recent rainfall, coupled with the growth of grass, plants and trees have reduced the risk of uncontrolled wildfire spread.

While this ban has been lifted, residents must continue to comply with all applicable state and local open burning regulations, which are available on the department’s website by clicking here.http://www.yorkcounty.gov/fire

For additional information, contact the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety at 757-890-3600 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.
