JCC Holds Public Meeting to Share Redistricting Info

James City County’s new voting districts look very different after the recent redistricting process, so the county is hosting a meeting Wednesday to help explain the changes.

The new districts (view the map here) were approved by the Board of Supervisors last month. The county will host a public meeting to give residents an overview of the redistricting process, to share information about the approved redistricting map and explain how the Voting Rights Act figures in the process.

Citizens will also get a chance to learn about the new voting procedures and equipment that will be in the polling places on November 8.

James City County Attorney Leo Rogers, Voter Registrar AJ Cole and County GIS Mapping Supervisor Kim Hazelwood will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center on Longhill Road in rooms A, B and C.

Redistricting is a calamity of fallen values, ethics.
People accept the unthinkable because it's done, not because they approve of gerimanered politicism!
Let's get a fair shake for all voters, with the judicial appeal!!
