Computer Troubles Lead to Child Porn ArrestBy WYDaily Staff Friday, May 13, 2011
Joseph A. Papol
Joseph Alfonso Papol, of Allyson Drive, was arrested Thursday afternoon on one count of possession of child pornography and 11 counts of second or subsequent possession of child pornography. James City Police spokesman Major Steve Rubino said the charges resulted from an investigation triggered when Papol took his computer to a local computer repair service and a technician found suspected child pornography on Papol's computer hard drive. The discovery was reported to police, who obtained a search warrant for Papol's residence. On May 3, investigators seized a laptop computer and laptop computer hard drive from Papol's home. A preliminary forensic examination of the hard drive revealed digital images, which led to Papol's arrest. The images, Rubino said, were downloaded from online sites. Rubino said Papol was unemployed and separated from his wife, who lives out of state with their children. He lives with his mother in James City. |

So what I am saying is, it is possible to accidentally download the stuff, and not know it is there. Now, if they can prove that it was viewed after download (and obviously remained on the computer), this could be a problem.
