JCC Woman Faces Charges in City Shooting

Williamsburg Police have arrested a 20-year-old James City County resident after she allegedly fired a gun during an argument with another woman.

City police were called to a home in the 300 block of Dunning Street on Saturday, May 9 around 9:30 p.m. for a fight with shots fired. Police spokesman Major Greg Riley said responding officers spoke to the victim and witnesses, who identified the shooter as Gabrielle Piggott of James City. No one was injured during the incident, which started as an argument between Piggott and another woman.

Based on information about the argument and shooting, James City County police officers stopped Piggott May 10 around 8:30 a.m. She was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm at a dwelling, use of a firearm during commission of a felony and attempt to commit a non-capital felony.

Piggott is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
