Pocahontas Back in Business for A.M. CommuteBy WYDaily Staff Monday, May 16, 2011 The Pocahontas, part of the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry fleet, was returned to service Sunday, several days earlier than expected.The Virginia Department of Transportation took the Pocahontas, the largest of the ferry fleet, out of service May 5 for emergency maintenance. The Pocahontas' absence meant hourly ferry capacity was diminished by about 50 cars. Motorists are encouraged to check the ferry hotline, which is available 24 hours a day, at 1-800-VAFERRY. |
