Kingsmill Resort Beefs Up Water Sport Offerings

Kingsmill Resort will be expanding its water sports activities starting this week to include parasailing, pontoon boats and jet skis.

The resort will start offering more watersports on Friday.

“As a family-friendly resort we are always looking for something that everyone can enjoy,” said Michael Garrow, vice president of sales and marketing for the resort. “The James River near the resort is smooth and tranquil, making it a perfect location for the whole family to have wet – but not overly wild – fun on the water.”

According to James City County’s zoning department, these uses are permitted for a yacht club or marina, so the resort doesn’t need any special permits to expand these water activities.

The water sport activities on the James River will be available through October and can be reserved by calling 1-800-832-5665. The jet skis will be available on an hourly basis. The parasailing will be available per ride, and the pontoon boats are available for half-day or full-day rentals.

The 2,000-acre resort will continue to offer kayaking and paddleboats on Warehams Pond, which meanders throughout the property.

Busch Properties sold the resort to Denver-based Xanterra Parks and Resorts, Inc., last summer.

Family friendly if you're the right kind of person.
