NN Man Faces First Degree Murder Charges in York Woman's Stabbing

York County sheriff's investigators early Saturday morning arrested a Newport News man in the death of a 39-year-old York County woman.

McCoy S. Johnson, a 43-year-old who lives in the 500 block of Woodfin Road in Newport News, was arrested without incident at his home around 12:35 a.m. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Dennis Ivey, Jr. said Johnson has been charged with first degree murder and grand larceny. He is being held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.

Sheriff's officers were called to Felice Hickey's Clairmont apartment complex home in the 300 block of Arcadia Loop just after noon Thursday. A family member had gone to the apartment to check on Hickey after not having heard from her. Once there, the family member discovered Hickey had been wounded. Medic units arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Ivey said Johnson had a "brief, past relationship" with Hickey, but would not elaborate.
