Armed Robbers Hit Richmond Rd. McDonald's

Williamsburg Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at 11:35 p.m. Monday at the McDonald’s on Richmond Road in the city.

Major Greg Riley said in a press release that two men entered the restaurant with handguns and ordered the store's four customers to get behind the counter. They then told one clerk to empty the registers and another to empty the safe. The employees and customers were then ordered to go to the back of the McDonald’s and stay on the floor while the robbers fled.

Both suspects were black males, dressed in all black, wearing gloves and hoodies. One of the men was described as being 6’ tall and skinny, while the other is 5’8" and heavy set.

Riley confirmed that no one was hurt during the robbery. James City and York County have both had similar incidents, Riley said, but it is not known if the crimes are related.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
