York Crime Line: AC Units Stolen

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate incidents involving the theft of air-conditioning units from businesses in York County.

The AC unit behind the Williams Dance Studio, located in the 5300 block of George Washington Memorial highway, was stolen at an unknown time on July 25.

On July 27 an unknown suspect stole parts from another AC unit that was at the rear of a building located in the 7300 black of Route 17. According to a press release, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day a witness saw a white male in his 20s squatting down and "messing with" the AC unit. The suspect was not wearing a shirt and had short, shaven blonde hair.

The witness said the suspect had a dark four-door vehicle backed up to the unit.
