Chesapeake Man Charged with Indecent Exposure at WMBy Sam Thrift Friday, August 26, 2011 The Chesapeake Police Department arrested a Chesapeake man Tuesday suspected of committing lewd behavior while sitting in a parking lot at the College of William and Mary on Monday. The suspect, 43-year-old Christopher Gemski, is being charged with indecent exposure and for actual or simulated masturbation in public. The William and Mary Police Department obtained the warrant for Gemski's arrest. Brian Whitson, director of university relations at William and Mary, said that William and Mary Police was able to identify the suspect, who was spotted engaged in lewd behavior while sitting in a car parked at the Law School on Monday. Gemski did not confront anyone in the parking lot and was gone before officers arrived. William and Mary’s Vice President for Administration Anna Martin sent a message to the campus community after the crime Monday afternoon, describing the suspect and asking everyone to be aware of their surroundings. Martin’s message said a witness described the suspect as a well-dressed 30- to 40-year-old white male with sandy brown hair. The suspect’s vehicle had Virginia tags and was described by witnesses as a silver Nissan hatchback. Gemski has no afflation with the school. Warrants were obtained by W&M Police. Chesapeake police served them because the suspect’s residence is in Chesapeake. |
